Science week begins this Sunday! We started to celebrate a bit early with a visit from Scott Ziglinski. Scott worked with each class to explore energy and forces. The boys really enjoyed the lesson and made their own mini go-karts. Next Friday we are planning a science themed assembly. Each class has been asked to prepare and present an experiment to the rest of the school. We decided to link the science experiments with our Biodiversity flag. At times it can be easy to feel overloaded with everything you are trying to do in school e.g. Green Flags, Maths Week, Science Week, Christmas activities, competitions. This is why we decided to link these two things together. We have also signed up with a Pilot programme from SEAI. They are coming out t our school to facilitate an Energy Day. On the day a group of 6th class students will help the facilitators to demonstrate a number of experiments to each class. I look forward to seeing how the day goes! I have put together a list of some new resources, feel free to add your own.
